History

The South Cole Neighborhood Association covers a large area in Boise city and Ada County south of Interstate 84 to Columbia Road; from Maple Grove to Orchard Road. The Association was formed in 2017 when CBH Homes proposed a massive housing project at South Cole and Lake Hazel Road. Citizens were concerned about the added traffic on Cole and general access to the open lands of south Ada County. Efforts of the Association resulted in the extension of Lake Hazel from Cole to South Orchard street and the widening of South Cole Road south of Victory. Our Association is in its infant stage; trying to determine what our neighbors want in an association and what issues we face in the future. Please join our association by adding your name to our email list, so that you can stay informed about meetings, events, and issues that may affect your property! Go to southcole.org and sign-up.

Neighborhood Planning

Neighborhood planning is a collaboration between the city and neighborhood associations to guide the future of Boise’s neighborhoods. Boise uses a Geographic Area Planning (GAP) program that assigns city planners to specific neighborhoods so they are familiar with the unique issues facing each area.

Boise currently has 34 established neighborhood associations. The goal for these associations is to work with their communities to create vibrant and thriving neighborhoods that increase the livability for their residents
