South Cole Neighborhood Association is working with the City of Trees Challenge to get more trees planted in our neighborhood. Sign upĀ here.

The City of Trees Challenge, a local initiative to plant trees in Boise and forests around Idaho is holding a tree giveaway this October at the Boise Farmers Market. The Challenge is partnering with the South Cole Neighborhood Association to provide trees to community members in Southwest Boise. These trees are intended for planting on private property at homes and residences. There are many benefits to planting a tree on your property. Aside from the natural beauty they provide trees can provide cooling, increase property value, and reduce energy bills associated with air conditioning. This is especially true for trees planted on the Western aspect of homes where they block afternoon sunlight.
Giveaway trees will be nursery sized trees in 7-gallon containers ranging from 8-12 feet tall. They will be available for pick-up upon reservation at the Boise Farmers Market on October 9th and 16th. If you are interested in planting a tree please visit this link to make a reservation and indicate your tree preference. After filling out the form in the link above you will be contacted by the City of Trees Challenge with a time slot and instructions.
